There are three types of fuel filters: diesel filter, gasoline filter, and gas filter. The function of fuel filter is to filter out particles, water, and impurities in the fuel, ensuring that the precise components of fuel system are free from wear and other damage.
The fuel filter is connected to the pipeline between fuel pump and throttle body inlet. Its function is to remove solid impurities such as iron oxide and dust contained in the fuel and prevent blockage of fuel system (especially the fuel injector), reducing mechanical wear to ensure stable engine operation and improve reliability. It’s composed of an aluminum shell and a bracket with stainless steel inside, which is equipped with high-efficiency filter paper in a chrysanthemum shape to increase the flow area.
The structure of diesel filters is roughly the same as that of oil ones, with two types available: replaceable and spin-on filters. But its working pressure and oil temperature resistance requirements are much lower than those of oil filters, and its filtration efficiency requirements are much higher.
