The crankshaft gear is a gear or key gear installed at the front end of crankshaft, usually used to drive camshaft gears, chains, or toothed belts. The crankshaft gear has a total of 58 pinions, originally 60, but two pinions are combined into a single one for labeling the cylinder support point and signal transmission.
The crankshaft is one of the main parts of the diesel generator set. Its function is to collect the work done by each cylinder of engine and output it in the form of rotary motion. As for the Cummins multi-cylinder diesel generator, it needs to continuously bear the force transmitted from the piston through the connecting rod during the power stroke, and convert it into torque and transmit it to the drive mechanism.
