The power steering pump is driven by engine to convert low-pressure oil in the oil tank into high-pressure and deliver it to steering control valve. It’s the power source of hydraulic power steering system, which converts mechanical energy into hydraulic energy through the engine as transmission medium. The steering gear converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy through the hydraulic oil output of oil pump, thus reducing driver's operating intensity and improving maneuverability of the whole vehicle.
It controls the internal pressure of power steering pipeline through a pressure relief valve to ensure the safety of steering system and regulates the steering system flow to ensure driver's steering feel when driving at high speed.
