The thermostat is a valve that controls the flow path of coolant and also an automatic temperature control device that typically contains a temperature sensing component that starts or stops the flow of air, gas, or liquid by means of thermal expansion or contraction. It automatically adjusts the amount of water entering radiator according to the temperature of cooling water, changing the range of water circulation to regulate heat dissipation capacity of cooling system and ensure that the engine operates within appropriate temperature range.
The thermostat must be maintained in good technical condition, otherwise it will seriously affect the normal operation of engine. If the main valve of thermostat opens too late, it will cause the engine to overheat. If too early, it will prolong the preheating time of engine and make its temperature too low.
