The function of the fuel transfer pump is to ensure that a sufficient amount of diesel is delivered from the fuel tank to fuel injection pump, and to maintain a certain supply pressure to overcome the resistance of pipeline and fuel filter , allowing diesel to circulate in the low-pressure pipeline. Its fuel transfer capacity is generally 3-4 times the full load requirement of a diesel engine. Fuel transfer pumps are divided into gear, diaphragm, plunger, pipeline fuel transfer pumps, and so on.
Its working principle includes two aspects:
1. Preparing to pressurize fuel process: The eccentric wheel pushes the roller, push rod, and piston outward with the camshaft of fuel injection pump rotating. Due to the decrease in volume, the fuel pressure in pump chamber I increases to close the inlet valve and press the outlet valve, and diesel fuel flows from pump chamber I to chamber II through the outlet valve.
2. Absorbing and pressurizing fuel process: When the protruding part of eccentric wheel rotates away from roller, the piston moves inward under the action of spring, the fuel pressure in pump chamber II increases, then the outlet valve is closed, and diesel flows through the fuel duct to fuel filter. At this moment, the volume of pump chamber I increases, its pressure decreases, and inlet valve 3 is sucked open. Diesel enters pump chamber I through the inlet port and valve.
