The air intake pressure temperature sensor is a negative temperature coefficient thermistor and also a dual wire sensor, installed on the intake pipe or inside the air flow meter. Its resistance value decreases when temperature rises, and increases as temperature declines. As the resistance in the circuit changes, the voltage changes, thus generating different voltage signals to complete the automatic operation of the control system.
When the vehicle is cold, the signal of air intake temperature sensor is basically the same as the water temperature sensor of engine. While the vehicle is hot, its signal voltage is approximately 2-3 times that of water temperature sensor. Its function is to detect the intake temperature of engine, convert it into a voltage signal and input it to the ECU as a fuel injection correcting one.
